For my third emergent technology I used mixbook. Mixbook is an online book making application which allows you to collaborate your photos into an album. Upon creating an album you have the choice to publish the album by printing it and receiving an actual book or digitally share it like I did in this post. This technology takes all the hard work it takes to actually create a book with all the bells and whistles. In little as an hour, I had a complete book with everything already decorated. I like this application because like my album that I created it is good for special occasions like mother’s day. This application is very user friendly with step-by-step instructions and it is easy to navigate buttons. Not only do you gain time by doing the album digitally but also, you do not have to be a crafty person in order to create one. The album I put together is of my daughter because its mother’s day soon and we will be giving it to my wife as a gift. So try it out yourself you might like it.

My second emerging technology involved the use of Roxio PhotoShow. It is a application which allows you to compile photos, edit them, create slide shows, and publish them on sites such as my blog site. This tool is very useful because not only can you post on your site you can create emails and other methods of delivery to express your photos. It is useful in allowing others to see moments in your life that you have captured through the camera. The application was very straightforward and easy to use. There were step by step instructions and easy to use buttons. You can check out my little slide show I posted on my blogger. My Blogspot This application would be great for school presentations as well. It is a tool that can help show whatever subject you are trying to display. I highly recommend this application.

Keeping up-to-date with to much info, the use of rss feeds

The feeds that I choose, mostly dealing with technology and one resource from an education site. I find the topics interesting, however, I did not anticipate how much info each site posts in to the rss reader. To someone who already has enough on their plate like myself, finding time is an issue with having an rss reader. All the information presented by each site is exactly what I anticipated in regards to the topics I choose.

My first podcast

My first podcast

The name of the technology that I have been exploring is called podcasting. Podcasting is a voice recording done by yourself for others to hear your input rather than read text. Podcast can be useful for a number of reasons; for example, multitasking, listening while exercising or driving. A podcast can be easily downloaded onto a device and then easily played back. I liked learning how to do a podcast. I never really knew how people where making podcasts, but I am finding the tool rather useful. The program Audacity is a very simple and straight forward program. People on the go and those that want their voice to be heard are the ones who really benefit from Podcasts. I had watched the podcasts video tutorial from the school to learn how to make my own podcast. The video was very useful and simple.

Introduction to blog site

Hi my name is Jeff Cottrell, and I am a junior majoring in General studies and then returning for elementary education. I want to teach children but I have to go about the teaching degree in another way because of my job. I currently live in Franklin Township. I grew up in Decatur township.

I am 22 years old and have a 19^th month old little girl with my wife.

In my free time I like to hunt at Morgan Monroe state park and enjoy going with my wife and daughter on picnics.

In creating this blog it was relatively easy to set up. It is straight forward, and easy for anyone to do it. I choose the blue colors because its my favorite color.
